So I arrived in Belgium nine months ago now. When I arrived, the first thing that people told me is « You definitely have to go to Bruges. It’s a must. » okay, well noted. I was sure that within the two first months I’ll go to this small city of Flanders and discover it. Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, this is not what happened.
Bruges is a romantic city. It’s also called the small Venice. So you can understand that I really wanted to visit it with my someone special. That’s why it took so long. Blame it on love…
Surrounded by water, canals and parks, Bruges is also known as a medieval city full of tourists. Well, I can understand when you see the beauty of the city. We decided to go there during spring, so it was even more beautiful. Flowers everywhere, perfect weather (okay still a little bit cold for the season, but it’s Belgium !). It’s like a little part of Disneyland. Every buildings are so cute, each windows have flowers, small tiny streets…
Of course you have to visit the touristic parts of the town. It’s a small town after all. But I also suggest you to visit some beguine couvents today restored as private houses with small parks. Absolutely pretty!
Bruges looks so gorgeous! It seems you had a fantastic time there!
