There are few changes in my life lately, this includes me spending more time in the lovely city of Gent.
I’ll come up next time with a full post on Antwerp and Gent, so I can finally show you how beautiful are these two cities. In the meantime, let’s talk about Barista.
In a warm (very warm)(finally!) day of April, while visiting the city for the second time, I stopped and discovered Barista, a coffee and cake place, perfectly situated in the old part of Gent. Okay there is two Barista in Gent, but the one I tried was where all the tourist are, close to a small bridge and the canal.
As its name suggests, Barista is… a coffee spot ! That specific day, I got lucky and found a perfect place on the terrace to drink a nice coffee and at the same time enjoying the sunshine. Perfect right ? Curious as I am, I couldn’t resist to entering and visiting the whole café.
The space is so bright with fresh flowers on each table, and not any type of flowers, tulips ! One side of the building has a view on the cute tiny street and the other side has a view on the canal. Even if there is no seat outside, this place is so charming ! Inside is perfect too.
I haven’t tried the cakes (summer is coming super-soon) but from what I’ve seen, they looked pretty tasty. Especially the cookies which looked damn perfect.
I guess that if you’re a tourist an you’re visiting this part of Gent (and even if you’re not a tourist) I’ll suggest you to make a quick stop at Barista and have a nice capuccino while enjoying the pretty view on Gent.
